    FeelGood Homes (Discontinued)

FeelGood Homes approached me and requested a website, brand and marketing materials be created for them.  The website is now discontinued but the screenshot remains from my old portfolio.

    Case Study

The FeelGood Homes website was created when I was approached by an interior design company based in the North East of England.  They asked me to build them a new website and also create marketing material for them such as leaflets / business cards etc.  When they approached me they did not already have a brand or image so after close discussions, we decided I should be in charge of branding them too.

I created the logo using Macromedia Fireworks.  I came up with it while on a visit to their office and it was inspired by a piece of décor.  Once I had created the shapes, I added text in a desirable font.  The manager and I discussed this and thought the font used currently is the best.  After the logo was in place, I started to create the website.

I was informed that the website needed to be intricate and artsy to fit in with an interior designer’s image.  I think I created this well using colour effectively and a good balance of light and dark.  Using bright colours is often something that interior designers do so I used this to influence my design.

I took the logo I had already designed and turned it into an animation using Adobe Flash.  The animation is subtle and it really adds a nice effect to the site, without being too obvious.

After the website was done, I started design on the marketing materials such as the leaflets.  I used a hi-res photograph of an orange curtain, and the same branding on the material to improve brand strength and carry on the theme.

Inside the website, I was asked to create an interactive Flash kitchen designer in which a customer could go on and design their own kitchen and actually get an idea what it might look like.  I created this and FeelGood were pleased with it.  It proved to be a popular feature.

Please note this website has been discontinued and is not online anymore.
