Case Study
I created Oldboysmusic.com as a project for my friend and fellow Rugby Club player. I was drafted into helping out with the Music and Entertainment side of things at the Rugby club such as organising music gigs and other things of that nature.
Originally, there was no real way of getting these gigs publicity and we were not getting the numbers of attendees we would have liked. I announced the idea of creating a website in a meeting with the Club Captain. After much discussion on the subject, I began to create a website specified to the Club Captain’s needs.
The website follows a “Mod” theme such as The Who and other associated “Mod” things. The colour scheme follows the red, blue and white of Mods and the logo is similar to that of the band “The Who”. This was a feature requested by the Club captain. I designed the logo and then designed the website around it.
The website has a nice, clean layout. It runs on a fully featured CMS system and has many multimedia features such as:
A Flash coded mp3 player on the main page, so a user can listen to music
A full in-built forum system for community discussions
A fully featured Content Management System so the website can be updated by more than one Admin
A Picture gallery system using javascript and xhtml for an effective photo browsing solution
A full news system that can be updated easily, from anywhere, by anyone with the admin privileges.This website was done as a project for my local Rugby club that I have been attending since I was a baby in arms. I did not charge for this project. =]
